Wedge, James Balfour (1922-76)

Born in Saskatoon on June 25, 1922, James Wedge attained his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1944, and his law degree in 1948. He was named Queen's Counsel in 1960 and was employed with the firm Maguire, Wedge, McKercher & McKercher (now McKercher McKercher & Whitmore, LLP). Wedge served with the Canadian Infantry Corps and was a member of the naval reserves. He was active in the Saskatoon City Council, the Saskatchewan and Canadian Bar Associations, and was vice-president of the Saskatchewan Heart Foundation. James Balfour Wedge was invested as a Member of the Order of Canada in 1973. He died on April 2, 1976.
