Sergeant Bill.
Saskatchewan's most famous goat, Sergeant Bill left his hometown of Broadview to serve as the mascot of the Fifth Canadian Battalion in France during World War I. Bill was gassed, wounded, and decorated (his medals included the 1914 Star, the General Service Medal, and the Victory Medal) before he safely returned to Canada, finishing his years out to pasture in his hometown. After his death, plans were to display him in the province's proposed War Memorial Museum. Instead, Bill resided briefly during the 1920s in the reading room of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building, where the area where he stood became a designated meeting place, and then returned to Broadview, where he is now honoured in the Broadview Museum.
