An innovative and progressive educator, Albert E. Peacock was born in Northport, Nova Scotia in 1901 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Allison University in 1921. He completed his education at the Regina Normal School and the Universities of Chicago and Toronto before coming to Moose Jaw in 1922. Peacock taught at Ross Collegiate, Central Collegiate, and the technical high school that eventually bore his name. In 1937, he was appointed principal of the technical school and superintendent of schools in Moose Jaw. Following World War II, he assumed the latter position until his retirement in 1966. Active in the Moose Jaw Rotary Club, YMCA, and the United Church, Albert Peacock received the Order of Canada in 1974 in recognition of his work in education. He died on February 16, 1983.
