Born on December 29, 1903, Mederic McDougall was a long-serving member of the Métis and Francophone communities in St-Louis, Saskatchewan. He began his employment with the rural municipality of St-Louis in 1944 and served as a school trustee for eighteen years and a town councillor for three years. McDougall was a founding member and delegate of the Métis Association and president of the Association culturelle franco-canadienne in his village. He received his appointment as a Member of the Order of Canada in 1985. He died on June 20, 1989.
