Cennon, J.J. (1922-)

A well-known broadcaster and community member, J.J. (Jack) Cennon was born in Saskatoon on October 13, 1922. From 1936 to 1941, he worked as a radio announcer with CFQC Saskatoon before serving with the Royal Canadian Signal Corps during World War II. Later, Cennon moved to Prince Albert and was production manager of CKBI. Interested in penal reform, he volunteered at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary for forty years, serving on several committees and the parole board. Cennon was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1980.
