Remai Family

Frank, Joe and John Remai are three brothers whose Saskatoon businesses have been responsible for building almost 10,000 residential units throughout the prairie provinces since 1962. The brothers' business interests were once intertwined, but eventually they separated their companies.

The Frank P. Remai Corporate Group, which includes P.R. Developments Ltd., employs more than 700 people, according to the annual rankings produced by Saskatchewan Business magazine, and has annual revenues of $120 million. Major recent Saskatoon P.R. Developments Ltd. projects include the Hong Kong Bank building, The Riverwalk and MacKenzie condominiums and The Franklin, a full-service, high-rise retirement home. The Ramada Renaissance, now called the Radisson, was a high-rise apartment and hotel complex built by the firm in 1984 in the city. In addition to its Saskatoon presence, P.R. Developments built and operated the West Harvest Inn, College Park Developments and Marian Gardens in Regina. It also owns the Executive Royal Inn Hotel chains in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Remai Construction, a separate company owned by Joseph Remai, employs another eighty people, producing $26 million in revenue annual. The head office is Saskatoon; an office was opened in Edmonton in 2003.

The Remai Group is primarily an investor, developer and manager of multifamily and commercial rental real estate in Saskatchewan and Alberta. The company is also active in residential condominium development in Saskatchewan and Alberta and owns and manages the Colonial Square Motel in Saskatoon.
