Kartusch, Michael P. (1907-96)

Born on September 20, 1907, for decades Michael P. Kartusch was involved in Education and the promotion of community sports in Regina. His tenure with the Regina Catholic School Board lasted for forty-three years. A fixture on the Regina sports scene, Kartusch joined the Regina Pats junior Hockey club in 1948 and served in various capacities until his retirement in 1979. He was also involved in softball, Baseball, basketball, and Football. For his lifetime devotion to teaching, amateur sport, and working with young people, Kartusch was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and named to the Order of Canada in 1974. He died on July 12, 1996.
