Carrier, Lorne (1959-)

Born on the Piapot First Nation on November 5, 1959, Lorne Carrier has led several initiatives designed to promote First Nations cultures, traditions, and heritage. Educated at the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College and the University of Victoria, Carrier created and was curator of the Treaty 4 Keeping House and Archives in Fort Qu’Appelle. He has a committed interest in the handling and reinterment of ancient burials and the repatriation of sacred First Nations artifacts. He works as Community Development Manager with the Saskatchewan Museums Association and is currently developing a Certificate in Aboriginal Museum Studies. Lorne Carrier was awarded the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in 2004.
